Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation grant program will provide 50% reimbursement for qualifying I4.0 tech costs up to $25k for eligible Michigan manufacturers.
Industry 4.0, the convergence of digital and physical technologies, is the next phase in advanced manufacturing automation and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has the resources and services to help manufacturing businesses like PIC prepare for the future.
PIC President Bryan Van Itallie made this announcement about the award:
“We received a matching grant from the State of Michigan to help purchase a new flatbed fiber laser cutting machine. Our engineering team is finalizing the specifications and the supplier, and I expect to be signing a PO in the next month. This machine will enable us to insource the cutting of many of our flat steel parts, giving us much more flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to supplier delays or design changes. Our plan is to follow this up with a CNC press brake which would enable PIC to not only produce flat steel parts, but also bent ones.”
